Durnago Silver Company has been working in the global marketplace since the 1990′s when John Hartman landed a contract with Marsay Company of Tokyo. Ultimately John retooled his company to produce 23,000 pieces of American Turquoise Jewelry items to applied onto Sterling Silver Zippo lighter cases. It was a big hit and Durango Silver Company went on to produce nearly a half million Sterling Silver and Turquoise pieces for export to Tokyo, Japan.
More recently, Durango Silver Company has been shipping Silver Turquoise Jewelry to many corners of the world and have found global trade to be much easier these days as many of the shipping companies such as UPS, Fedex and even the U.S.Postal Service has made great strides in global shipping and insurance.

Almost overnight, so it seems, we went from $6.00 per ounce to $36.00 per ounce for silver and from $200.00 per lb to $800.00 per lb for Turquoise. That is hard to swallow for a business that has to produce Jewelry to compete in a global marketplace. Well, that whats happening in the Turquoise Jewelry market today and the frosting on the cake is a recession from hell that we had nothing to do with.
